Job Description: Medicare Sales Associate provides health insurance counseling, enrollment assistance, and ongoing support to Medicare beneficiaries throughout Wisconsin. Associate meets with clients in person and over the phone as needed. Prior knowledge/experience is welcomed but not required as training is provided. A willingness to learn and motivation to succeed is essential to this position and more important than prior industry experience. Prior experience working with seniors or people with disabilities a major plus. Ability to network and form business relationships is essential to success. Flexible schedule and ability to work from home. Some travel within the state.
In addition, Medicare Sales Associate is expected to:
Minimum Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree preferred, high school diploma or equivalency required;
2. Punctual, regular, and predictable attendance;
3. Ability to multi-task and organize;
4. Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and interpersonal skills;
5. Ability to take direction and work independently and with minimal oversight on a daily basis;
6. Ability to effectively communicate complex insurance and coverage issues with the general public;
7. Ability to use a cell phone and email on a daily basis;
8. Knowledge of social media services including Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn;
9. Proficiency with Microsoft office software and the internet to complete online applications for insurance;
10. Working knowledge of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and the ability to follow its requirements, including maintenance and confidentiality of client records;
11. Current licensure with the State of Wisconsin to sell health insurance or ability to obtain license within three (3) months of hire (training provided);
12. Ability to obtain errors and omissions insurance coverage;
13. Ability to pass a background check for both state license and errors and omissions insurance;
14. Ability to travel within the Milwaukee metropolitan area and occasional day travel throughout the state.

- Maintain client confidentiality at all times
- Attend daytime and/or evening networking events on a regular basis
- Use social media effectively to promote services during regular business hours
- Write blog posts and articles relating to relevant topics
- Have excellent phone demeanor and return calls promptly
- Follow-up on Leads
- Maintain complete CMS Medicare compliance
