Phisht! I don't need to use a broker, I'll do it on my own or use free help from an assister!

Why use a broker? You're a savvy consumer and don't need help navigating the marketplace, right? Think again! A recently published research study confirms what I've been saying for years: getting help with your health insurance from a broker saves even the most insurance-savvy consumer time and money. The study shows that consumers who navigated the marketplace on their own did no better than random chance sampling in choosing a plan that would save them money, whereas individuals who got help were far more likely to choose the plan in their best interest. Best of all, our help is no cost. Open Enrollment is November 1-December 15 and we can help anyone in Wisconsin (call/text 414-797-3408 to schedule an appointment).

According to the study, "Consumers left to their own devices seem to make large errors when choosing health insurance, suggesting that they will select options that are not cost-efficient and they seem to be unaware of their failure" (http://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371%2Fjournal.pone.0081521).

Brokers know these plans in an out. We have contracts with the companies and have to attend company-specific training every year. Navigators and certified application counselors don't. And best of all, as brokers of record we can help solve problems including billing issues year round. Free assisters can't do that. Brokers also have a back-door portal and we can do applications over the phone in less than half the time it takes to do it on your own or with a navigator.

Try us out and see the difference. We guarantee you will be more than satisfied.

a very good blog was written. a very common point has been given light and i personally think that getting help from an assister or doing it on your own is better than asking a broker because it would cost you an extra money. i think that this awareness should be spread through online platform of social media.
thank you.

Hi Stromsoe~

Brokers actually are no-cost! There is NO additional cost to using a broker. Our commissions are built into the plans whether or not you use our help. Assisters are great, but they have some major disadvantages: they can only help in-person by verbally guiding you through the website (you have to create and log into an account, a problem for some older folks who don't use the computer or email), they cannot provide any plan-specific advice, and they can't provide any followup assistance. As a broker, I can do an enrollment over the phone with a consumer through my "backdoor" portal and it takes less than half the time of doing it on your own. I can also provide plan specific advice, and year-round help with problems and issues. For example, last week I helped reduce a client's ER bill from $9000 to $2400 with just a call to the plan to my broker representative, who was able to escalate the issue instantly. And that's all included, for no cost. If you did that on your own, not only would you have to deal with all the stress, but spend your personal time dealing with it. You don't have to use a broker, but there are many benefits of using one!

My dad's enrollment date is just around the corner, so my brother and I want to help him get the best Medicare plan for him. That's why we'll listen to your tips and find a broker to lead the way next week. We appreciate your insight on how choosing your insurance plant with a broker's help comes with cost-effective benefits in the long haul.

We’ve taken the guesswork out of finding the best Company by analysing important factors that will affect your customer experience. We evaluated large Company companies based on average rates for a variety of drivers, coverage features available, levels of complaints, grades for collision claims from auto body repair professionals, and how understandable the insurers’ websites are

Thank you for noting that the research demonstrates that those who received assistance were much more likely to select the plan that was in their best interests. My sister wishes to purchase health insurance. I'll advise her to work with a Medicare insurance broker so she may receive the best deal possible.

Although it may seem like a good idea to navigate the health insurance marketplace on your own or with a free assister, a recent study suggests that working with a broker can save both time and money. Brokers have specific knowledge of the plans and are trained to help consumers find the best option for their needs. Additionally, brokers can assist with billing issues year-round, which assisters cannot do. Therefore, it's worth considering using a broker's services to ensure you're making the best decision for your health insurance needs.
